Interview Report

I had an interview with Saleh Ahmed Al Marzooqi, a friend of my father. He is in his early 60's. I asked him about his early years. He told me that he was a fisherman for some time of his life. Also that when he was young he used to fish for different types of seafood with his brothers Mohamed and Sultan. They were using sailing boats to sail to the sea. These sailing also used to transport goods. As time goes by they started to use these sailing boats for racing. I asked him how often he raced, his answer was that he was racing more often when it was not the fishing season. He said that the way that the boat works is it needs the wind that blows the sail of the boat or waves that moves the boat. One of my question to him was how to ensure winning in a race? The answer he gave was that before the race begins the crew of the sailing boat study the weather status to decide the appropriate path to get the best timing of finishing the race. Which it depends on the strength of the wind blow. I asked him if he participated in competitions that occurred here. his answer to the question was that he participated in a lot of competitions, but he never ranked in the first place in any race although he was very close to rank in the first place, an accident happened before passing the finish line. A ship crashed their boat, so that ended his joy to win a race. I also asked him if still participating in competitions. He said that he was racing in his 40's and 50's, but he stopped racing as he got in his 60's because it became very tiring to race again. He said it was very hard to make sailing boat back then, but it's very easy nowadays.

Reflection

I worked in a group to do a case study about Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Gulf club. We chose this organization because one member of the group was familiar with this organization and said that the staff would help us out with the interviews. I decided to collect information from the website of the organization also by email and contacting by phone.

We found out during the interview when the club was opened and each of the sections in this club. And the number of members in each club. We learned that the members of the club came from different various nationalities and from both genders. Also that they have competitions in the clubs. I expected some of answers from the people that have been interviewed but some answers I didn’t expect like that they have a lot of members because the entire club looked empty. Also that some Emirati girls were playing rugby. All of the clubs are sports clubs that bring leisure to the members of the clubs.

In this case study the group needed to know photography to shoot the video and a person who knows about editing videos. Knowing English very well to come up with questions and to have good interviewing skills. I think that the organization should do ads to attract more people. If I had the chance to the case study again I would make sure to shoot in a quiet place. And I would ask when the club representatives were so I wouldn’t have to wait for the staff to come to do the interview.

Michael Jordan own parts in Charlotte Bobcats. The name of the team he played for in college was Tar Heels. The professional team he joined was Chicago Bulls. He earned the nicknames "Air Jordan" and "His Airness". He won NBA championship in 1991,1992 and 1993. After he retired for the second time he played for Washington Wizards. He won an MVP award. He is associated with Nike's Air Jordan Sneakers. He acted in a movie as himself. He is now 41 years old.
